Watching the 2015 Federation of International Lacrosse World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in Syracuse and on the Onondaga Reservation made Regy Thorpe feel left out. The onetime Team USA player and current Syracuse associate head coach for women's lacrosse won't be feeling left out any longer. Thorpe is the head coach for the U.S. team that will compete in the 2019 FIL world indoor championship. Thorpe and the team staff recently visited US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. to begin the planning process for the world championships.

"Seeing the 2015 world games in Syracuse right in our hometown and not being a part of it really fueled me for 2019 — applying for the job, building a team and a vision that's going to really help elevate U.S. indoor lacrosse, not only for 2019, but for the future as well," Thorpe said.
