The “US Lacrosse Athlete Mindset Series,” an eight-week webinar series geared towards giving lacrosse players and coaches tools to improve, continues this week with a session on Mental Health Vulnerabilities and their effects on academic and athletic performance, as well as social connection. One of the main goals of this session is to provide resources to support athlete wellness and strengthen our lacrosse community.

Leading the discussions is Arman Taghizadeh, M.D., (Dr. T), founder of the Mindset Training Institute, a Maryland-based organization that focuses on building confidence, promoting resilience, addressing mental health issues, and maximizing performance.

This week’s guest is Anna Barton, a sophomore defender/midfielder on the University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team. Barton shares her perspective on transitioning to college athletics while being 3,000 miles from home, personal performance, body image, stress and the importance "for athletes to get the help they need before their stress levels get too high and they end up losing motivation, or even start to lose themselves."
