The U.S. team’s World Games title came on the heels of winning the Federation of International Lacrosse World Cup just weeks before. During the course of 2017, the U.S. women’s lacrosse team went a perfect 15-0 against international competition and top American college teams to retain its spot atop the world rankings.

Attacker Alyssa Murray was the star for the U.S. in the World Games, leading the team with 19 points on 12 goals and seven assists, including four goals in the gold-medal winning game over Canada when the U.S. went on a five-goal run in the second half to break a 6-6 tie and secure the gold.
