Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Two of the hottest teams in the country picked up notable non-conference wins Tuesday.

Matt Campbell had two goals and five assists, surpassing 200 career points in No. 7 Villanova’s 17-6 win over visiting Navy.

No. 17 Boston University defeated Harvard for the first time since 2017. Timmy Ley scored five goals and Dane DeGoler caused six turnovers. DeGoler also scored on a 65-yard heave in the fourth quarter to help seal the host Terriers’ 15-11 victory.

Villanova (7-1) and BU (6-1) are both on six-game winning streaks.

In other Division I men’s lacrosse results, Syracuse defeated St. Bonaventure 22-6 and Dartmouth downed Hampton 18-9.

In Division III, No. 9 Middlebury remained unbeaten with a 15-9 win over previously unbeaten No. 5 Union and No. 2 Tufts throttled No. 19 Cabrini 24-7. The undefeated Jumbos are averaging more than 24 goals per game, pouring in 145 goals in just six games.

2. Lindsey Marshall scored her fourth goal in double overtime to lift Towson to a 15-14 win at Vanderbilt on Tuesday.

The Tigers (6-3) erased a four-goal deficit in the second half. Gabby Garrett (four goals, three assists), tied it with 2:17 left in regulation.

In other Division I women’s lacrosse results, No. 18 Penn State — whose resurgence was the subject of a story by Beth Ann Mayer — kept the good times rolling with a 15-12 victory over Pitt. Kayla Abernathy led the way with four goals and eight draw controls.

Also Tuesday, Brown beat Bryant 21-13, Georgetown defeated Dartmouth 13-8 and Wofford beat Akron 17-13.

In Division II, top-ranked West Chester continued its early-season dominance with a 16-5 victory over No. 8 East Stroudsburg.

3. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) and Lake Mary (Fla.) are the new No. 1 teams in the South.

We issued the first in-season updates to high school rankings Tuesday, recalibrating regional top 10s in the South and West (girls and boys).

The PLL returned to Japan for the first time since 2019. Fifteen of the league's stars — as well as 15 women's lacrosse stars (Team Unleashed) — made the trip overseas to help grow the sport by playing exhibition games and experiencing Japanese culture.

WHAT’S ON TAP

High Point and those midweek trap games. The Panthers visit No. 15 North Carolina (7 p.m. EDT on ESPN+) for a men’s lacrosse game with upset potential.
Will the No. 4-ranked Denver women make it a sweep in Jacksonville? The Pioneers look to build on the big neutral-site win over Boston College against the host Dolphins (1 p.m. EDT on ESPN+).
Other games of note on the women’s side: No. 10 Virginia plays at No. 7 James Madison for state bragging rights and No. 16 Duke visits East Carolina (quietly 8-1 on the season).
Save the best for last. Unbeaten No. 1 Syracuse (9-0) hosts No. 6 Stony Brook (5-1) in a nationally televised women’s lacrosse matchup (8 p.m. EDT on ESPNU) with premium entertainment value.
